Marriage is not only a union of two individuals as husband and wife for a lifetime but also it joins two families and cultures together. An individual’s Kundli, on the basis of the planetary alignments, transits and combination decides the time of marriage. The following are the reansons for delay in the marriage.
(i) Relation of malefic planets with 7th house – In the horoscope of the native, if the planets like Rahu, Ketu, Mars or Sun resides in 7th house or aspects 7th house, it indicates delay in marriage.
(ii) Relation of Saturn with 7th house – If Saturn is situated in 7th house or is aspecting 7th house by itself being situated in 1st, 5th or 10th house, delayed matrimony is indicated.
(iii) Relation of the lord of 7th house with Saturn or malefic planets – Delay in wedding is also indicated if the lord of 7th house is in conjugation with Saturn or planets like Rahu, Ketu and Mars.
(iv) Unfavorable position, weak position or debilitation of the lord of 7th house – Presence of the lord of 7th house either in 2nd/6th/8th/12th house or in balyavastha/vridhavastha/mritavastha represents a delay in the marriage of the native. In addition to that, if the lord of 7th house resides in any debilitated position, it indicates delays in the wedlock.
(v) Relation of 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th house lord – In the Kundli of the native, if the lord of 6th house is situated in such a way that it is either related to the 5th house or to the lord of 5th house and vice versa, it also detains the marriage. In the same line, if such a relationship is formed between 7th-8th, 6th-7th, 5th-6th-7th, 6th-7th-8th, 5th-7th-8th house/house lord, delayes in tying knots is indicated.
(vi) Position of Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, Venus, and Sun – All these planets, besides the lord of 7th house, generally considered responsible for marriage and in the Kundli, the position of these planets in 2nd, 6th, 8th, and 12th house represents delayed marriage. (Note: Sun, Mars, and Saturn are benefic in 6th house, on the conditions that it is not the lord of 7th house but if it happens so, (v) is applicable.)
(vii) Malefic afflictions of the 11th house and/or the lord of 11th house is also considered responsible to some extent in delaying marriage.
(viii) Period and inter period forming inauspicious yoga momentarily – Sometimes, the intervening period and inter period, momentarily form inauspicious yogas like Vish Yog, Grahan Yog, Chandal Yog, Angarak Yoga. That also indicates a delay in marriage.
(ix)) The prvailing transit of Saturn in 1st, 5th, 7th, 8th, 10th and 12th position from the respective moon sign is the significant reason for delay in marriage. The unfavourable transit of Jupiter also delays marriage to some extent.
(x) Negative effects of Kaal Sarp dosh, Manglik dosh, Vish Yog, Pitra dosh, Grahan Yog, Chandal Yog, Angarak Yog and/or Kendram Yog, imparts delayed marriage. With respect to marriage, this negative effect is more pronounced if such inauspicious yoga forms in 1st, 5th, 7th, and 11th house.
